Chris Dittmann Racing will field a three-car line up for the GB3 Championship’s visit to Circuit Zandvoort this weekend (October 13-15) as Jack Sherwood joins regulars Zak Taylor and Arthur Rogeon.
Jack first joined the team towards the end of the 2022 season, taking part in the final rounds of the F4 British Championship and returned for a full campaign this year, with three overall podium finishes to his name.
Jack has completed a series of tests in the GB3 car, including a full day at Zandvoort, and has also made use of the team’s state-of-the-art simulator to familiarise himself with both the track and the machinery. During his time on the track, Jack has demonstrated a remarkable ability to quickly adapt to the increased power and grip of the Tatuus MSV-022 chassis and Mountune engine, leaving a strong impression on the team.
The upcoming race at Zandvoort will present a formidable challenge for the youngster. In preparation of hosting the Dutch Grand Prix once again, the track has undergone modifications to Hugenholtbocht and Arie Luyendykbocht, with the addition of banking to these iconic corners. As a result, the track will provide a demanding combination of technical and high-speed turns for Jack to navigate.
He, Zak, and Arthur will undertake three 45-minute practice sessions on Friday, October 13th, before qualifying at 09:00 CEST (08:00 BST) the following morning, with races one and two taking place at 11:50 (10:50) and 17:40 (16:40). The final contest is on Sunday 15th, at 11:10, with live coverage of all the action carried on the MSV TV YouTube channel.
Jack Sherwood
“I’m looking forward to racing the GB3 Championship car with Chris Dittmann Racing. I’ve had five test days so far, so I’m excited to get behind the wheel in a race environment. I’ve enjoyed my time in the car so far and it’s a good car to drive as it’s really fast with lots of aero. That makes it tricky to get used to, but I’ve got a decent grasp so far and hopefully that’ll translate to the weekend.
“I’ve driven Zandvoort once before and it’s an awesome circuit. Its challenging, undulating, and high speed, plus the banking adds another variable for us drivers. It’s a dream to be able to drive on Formula 1 circuits at this stage of my career and I’ll be working hard with CDR all weekend to maximise our performance. We did well last year coming into F4 with little preparation, so hopefully, we can repeat that in GB3.”
Chris Dittmann, Team Owner
“We’re looking forward to having Jack in the car. We’ve done a few days with him already and he’s been quite impressive. He’s had a good F4 season and learned a lot throughout the year, so it was nice for him to end his year with a podium in that series. Racing at Zandvoort in GB3 will be great experience and, given what he’s shown us in testing so far, I think he could do quite well.”
