Consistent forward progress for Chris Dittmann Racing on British F4 Netherlands adventure

Chris Dittmann Racing demonstrated strong race pace and consistent forward progress as the Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA travelled to Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands (25–27 July).

Represented once again by Tommy Harfield, Alba Larsen, and Charlie Edge, the team completed two practice sessions on Friday before heading into qualifying on Saturday morning. Unfortunately, the pace shown on Friday was not reflected in qualifying, leaving the drivers with ground to make up across the three races.

All three drivers made clean starts in the opening race, avoiding a stalled car on the grid, before the Safety Car was deployed. Following a short intervention, racing resumed, and each driver gained positions: Tommy finished ninth, gaining six places, with Alba in 15th after moving up five spots, and Charlie 22nd with a three-place improvement.

Sunday’s first race began after a delay due to a red flag on the opening lap. Once restarted, the shortened 18-minute contest featured a string of close battles. Tommy climbed to ninth early on and continued his progress to finish fifth by the chequered flag – a gain of eight positions. Charlie took the flag in 17th and Alba crossed the line in 18th.

In race three, Tommy advanced to ninth in the opening laps but lost a position after running wide at turn three. Behind, Alba spun on corner entry, and with little room for avoidance, Charlie made contact with the barriers, leading to his retirement. The Safety Car was deployed, and the race was red flagged to allow for recovery of his machine.

Following the restart, Tommy moved into ninth and then eighth, with Alba in 18th. A collision between two other drivers brought out the Safety Car once again and, on the restart, Tommy made a decisive pass for fifth into turn one before another Safety Car was deployed. The race ended early under red flag conditions after a further incident.

Chris Dittmann Racing returns to Wera Tools British F4 action at Knockhill from 15–17 August, while the team is also in GB3 Championship competition this coming weekend (2–3 August) at Silverstone.

Chris Dittmann, Team Principal

“It was another weekend of solid progress for the drivers. Tommy’s ability to move forward in every race and fight well inside the top ten shows his ability on track. Alba and Charlie continue to develop strongly with each outing, handling the challenges of new circuits and experiences with professionalism and commitment. We’re proud of the team’s effort and excited to keep building momentum through the second half of the season.”
