Chris Dittmann Racing kicked off the 2025 GB3 Championship season at Silverstone last weekend (26–27 April), fielding returning driver Divy Nandan for his series debut.
Divy jumped into the team’s new Tatuus MSV GB3-025 for qualifying on Saturday morning around an overcast Silverstone. A new format for 2025 split the usual 30 minutes into two 15-minute sessions, with Q1 and Q2 setting the grids for races one and two respectively, while race three remained a reverse-grid contest for the top 12. Getting to grips with the significantly more powerful GB3 car, he finished both qualifying sessions in P25.
With one car unable to take the start of the race, and another penalised for track limits infringements in qualifying, Divy lined up P23 for the first race of the weekend. The contest provided a fantastic learning experience for the Indian driver, allowing him to get a feel for the car in race conditions, as he crossed the line in P24.
Race two featured a chaotic start with two cars stalling on the grid. he reacted well, gaining six places before the Safety Car was deployed. Once racing resumed, faster cars recovered their positions, and he settled into P20. A second Safety Car period followed contact ahead, promoting Divy to P18, where he finished; post-race penalties for other drivers later elevated him to P17 in the final classification.
The Safety Car was called out before the end of lap one in race three after two separate incidents ahead. Divy made it through unscathed, gaining three positions in the process. Following three full laps behind the Safety Car, racing resumed, and he chased down a rival ahead to move into P20. In a busy final third of the race, he continued to make progress, climbing to P18 at the chequered flag.
Now, the team looks to learn even more about the brand-new GB3 Championship car before the series heads to Zandvoort over the weekend of 17–18 May.
Chris Dittmann, Team Principal
“It was a really tough challenge for Divy this weekend, jumping straight into the new GB3 car without any testing beforehand. Silverstone is a hard circuit at the best of times, and to do that in a brand-new, more powerful car is no small task. He made really strong progress in every session, gaining confidence and positions across the races. We’re proud of how far he came in such a short space of time, and we’re looking forward to Zandvoort.”
