Snett speed goes unrewarded

Chris Dittmann Racing’s 2016 season came to a close at Snetterton with the final rounds of F3 Cup. The team visited still in with a chance of a double championship win, Stuart Wiltshire third in the drivers’ championship and the team third in the teams’. Fourth in the damp opener kept him in the hunt, while team-mate Tony Bishop slipped to 10th late on. In the second, neither Wiltshire or Bishop could make improvements on their starting slots, running ninth and 10th for much of it. Bishop, whose one-lap pace was good enough for the fourth-fastest, fell back to 12th[…..]

CDR bids for F3 Cup double

Chris Dittmann Racing heads to Snetterton this weekend (October 8-9) for the F3 Cup season finale still in contention for a double championship victory. The reigning teams’ champion lies third in the standings in its quest to retain the title, with three races pencilled for the Norfolk visit. The Tewkesbury outfit will need to overturn a 108-point deficit. In the drivers’ standings Stuart Wiltshire also sits third, 46 points back from the top spot. Each driver must drop their three worst scores, and with two non-finishes he loses the 14 points from Donington-hosted round two. But such has been Wiltshire’s[…..]

CDR secures third in F3 Cup standings at Silverstone

Silverstone hosted the penultimate weekend of F3 Cup, and an impressive performance from Stuart Wiltshire puts him and CDR in pole position to wrap up a double third place in the championships. He and team-mate Tony Bishop have combined to secure third in the 2016 teams’ standings. Wiltshire overcame a broken foot suffered earlier in the week to notch a brace of fourth places to eke out a small cushion in the third spot in the championship table. The 2015 championship runner-up was engaged in a close battle during the frantic opener, and he worked his way towards the top[…..]

Mixed fortunes at F3 finale

The BRDC British Formula 3 Championship concluded at Donington Park with a strong showing from Jeremy Wahome and Omar Ismail, but the unfortunate Krishnaraaj Mahadik was forced onto the sidelines by injury. Wahome looked set for his best result of the season in the opener when a good start propelled him into the top six. Having moved into fifth, his race came to an early end at the Fogarty esses when he spun off the circuit. The Kenyan youngster finished his season on a high with 10th place in the final race of the year, having earlier claimed 15th in[…..]

Ismail rejoins CDR

Omar Ismail will be reunited with Chris Dittmann Racing at the final rounds of the BRDC Formula 3 season at Donington Park on September 10-11. The Solihull teenager replaces American Quinlan Lall, who is unable to contest the finale due to external factors. Ismail has previous experience of the F3 car having raced in the opening weekend for HHC Motorsport, claiming 12th and 16th either side of a non-finish. Ismail is familiar face at CDR, winning with the squad in Formula 4 at Snetterton in 2015 before a podium at Brands Hatch later in the season. He joins season regulars[…..]

CDR winner Ismail returns as team aims to end season on high

Chris Dittmann Racing (CDR) heads to the final event of the 2016 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship at Donington Park this weekend (10-11 September) with high hopes of a strong end to the season, bolstered by the return of Omar Ismail, who has won races for the team in the past, alongside full-time season regulars Jeremy Wahome and Krishnaraaj Mahadik. Ismail, who previously raced and won for the team in the BRDC British F4 Championship, is substituting for Quinlan Lall for the final three races of the season following the interference of external factors. Ismail is an established quick driver[…..]

Podium reward for Brands Hatch pace

Chris Dittmann Racing returned to the F3 Cup podium at Brands Hatch but it was a case of what might have been. Stuart Wiltshire began the weekend with a strong drive to second place in the first of the weekend’s two races to get his title bid back on track. Team-mate Tony Bishop, who qualified on the front row for both races, slipped to fifth on the opening lap before claiming fourth position two laps from the end. In the second of the two contests the team looked set for a double podium, with Bishop in second and Wiltshire third.[…..]

CDR looking to bounce back at Brands

F3 Cup returns to action at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit this weekend (August 27-28) with Stuart Wiltshire and Tony Bishop looking to return to form. Bishop impressed around the shorter layout, the Indy, earlier in the season when two potential race wins were instead non-finishes. In difficult conditions last time out at Oulton Park, Bishop again showed front-running pace but fortune failed to go his way. Spa race-winner Wiltshire returns to Brands Hatch still in the title running. A brace of seventh-place finishes in the Oulton Park rain last time out leaves him fourth in the standings, 53[…..]

Experience key for Snetterton return

Chris Dittmann Racing displayed impressive pace during last weekend’s BRDC British Formula 3 Championship event at Snetterton (6-7 August), the second to last event of the 2016 season. The team was quick from the off at the Norfolk circuit, with American Quinlan Lall lapping the challenging 300 circuit very quickly during Friday morning practice. The 16-year-old was only edged out by championship leader Ricky Collard during the session, to kick the weekend off impressive style. Lall’s fine form continued into qualifying where the US-native secured eighth position on the grid, with team-mates Krishnaraaj Mahadik and Jeremy Wahome 16th and 19th[…..]

Battling F3 Cup performances in Oulton Park rain

The second half of the 2016 F3 Cup championship began with a tricky weekend at Oulton Park in Cheshire. Early morning rain meant Stuart Wiltshire, Tony Bishop and Malcolm Scott opted to head into qualifying with wet tyres on the slowly drying circuit. Despite further rain during the session all three improved late on in the session, with Wiltshire vaulting into the top six. That gain demoted team-mate Bishop to seventh and Scott to 10th. In the first of the weekend’s two races Bishop slipped back on the opening lap. An early safety car brought him back up to the[…..]
