F3 Cup returns to action at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit this weekend (August 27-28) with Stuart Wiltshire and Tony Bishop looking to return to form.
Bishop impressed around the shorter layout, the Indy, earlier in the season when two potential race wins were instead non-finishes. In difficult conditions last time out at Oulton Park, Bishop again showed front-running pace but fortune failed to go his way.
Spa race-winner Wiltshire returns to Brands Hatch still in the title running. A brace of seventh-place finishes in the Oulton Park rain last time out leaves him fourth in the standings, 53 points adrift with plenty of time left in the 2016 championship.
Malcolm Scott continues to improve in his debut year in F3 Cup, having been consistently scoring points all season. He heads to Brands Hatch in ninth place, one spot above team-mate Bishop.
Team principal Chris Dittmann said: I’m confident we’ll be back where we need to be at Brands Hatch. Oulton Park was difficult, but we know and we have shown we have the potential to win races at Brands. Tony could easily have come away with wins earlier in the year but for a couple of mistakes when pushing.
Stuart has shown he can win races, he should be back at the front, and Malcolm too is really settling into F3 Cup well.
We’ve lost a bit of ground in the Teams’ Championship but I’m hopeful we can begin to make that up, starting at Brands. With seven races still to go there’s plenty of time yet.
