Victory boosts CDR’s MSV F3 Cup title hopes at Snetterton

  • Tewkesbury-based team back on the top step of the podium in MSV F3 Cup at Snetterton.
  • Alex Fores scores second win of 2020 to keep himself in the championship hunt.
  • Season concludes at Donington Park (National) on 25 October 2020.
Chris Dittmann Racing boosted their MSV F3 Cup title bid with another victory for rising star Alex Fores last weekend [26-27 September] at Snetterton.

The Tewkesbury-based team returned to the 2.99-mile circuit buoyed by a double podium last time out at Donington Park, and aiming for a repeat of their pole position and victory at the season-opener in Norfolk back in July.

Fores qualified on the front row once again and led the opening race in the early stages, but an unlucky spin lost him ground, and he duly took the chequered flag sixth.

Undeterred, Fores – back on BRDC British Formula 3 Championship duties at the same circuit this weekend – bounced back in style later that afternoon, beating his chief title rival to seal a second victory of the campaign to keep himself in the hunt.

His attention will now turn to the title decider, scheduled to take place back at Donington Park – this time on the National layout – on 25 October 2020.

Chris Dittmann, Team Principal:
“Congratulations to Alex and the whole team on a second victory of the MSV F3 Cup season. After some bad luck and a few near misses in recent rounds, it’s a nice feeling to be back on the top step of the podium.

“It speaks volumes about Alex’s character to bounce back from that spin in the opening race and beat his main title rival to victory in the same afternoon.

“The whole team is feeling confident heading back to Donington Park for the title decider. It’s essentially our ‘second home’ now, with how the rescheduled calendars have played out!

“As always, a huge thanks to the entire team for their hard work and commitment, and we’ll go again in a few weeks with the aim of adding another championship title to the trophy cabinet!”

Alex Fores (#90):
“Overall, it was a good weekend for us, I’m taking the positives out of leading every lap, bar two, and taking a race win in wet conditions.

“It was never going to be easy after the whole day’s testing was rained off.

“It’s all still to play for at the last round for the championship, and being a triple header I’m looking forward to a competitive weekend with plenty of racing!”
