CDR ready to resume F3 Cup title bid at Donington Park

  • High-flying Tewkesbury-based team resume MSV F3 Cup title bid at Donington Park.
  • Alex Fores aiming to extend points lead, CDR chasing down top spot in the Teams’ stakes.
  • Three action-packed races in store for trio around ultra-challenging 2.4-mile GP circuit.
Chris Dittmann Racing arrive at Donington Park, Leicestershire this weekend [12-13 September] ready to ink the next chapter of their 2020 MSV F3 Cup title push.

The Tewkesbury-based team made a flying start to the delayed 2020 season at the Snetterton curtain-raiser in July.

Series newcomer Alex Fores impressed widely on his debut, taking pole position and a maiden victory – backed by Bromfield Precision Engineering – at the very first attempt on board his Dallara Mercedes F3.

That, along with a podium for returnee Patrick Jeans and some solid results in the Invitational class for Phillip Jeans, has put morale high heading to the East Midlands this time around.

CDR’s challengers will face a hat-trick of races around the challenging 2.4-mile GP circuit, with Fores aiming to extend his 13-point championship lead, and with the whole team targeting the 21-point deficit to CF Racing ahead in the Teams’ standings.

Qualifying kicks off the competitive action at 09:05 on Saturday, ahead of the opening race at 12:15.

Sunday features another high-octane double header, with the two races provisionally scheduled to get underway at 10:35 and 14:20.

Chris Dittmann, Team Principal said:
“We’re looking forward to returning to Donington Park for this weekend’s MSV F3 Cup meeting.

“Based on our performances at Snetterton last month, it should be another strong weekend for the team.

“Alex will no doubt be looking to add to his points lead, and both Patrick and Phillip showed great pace down in Norfolk, and will be hoping for a repeat.

“We’ve got a little margin to close down in the Teams’ points, so that’s something for us to focus on. It can all change very quickly, so we’ll keep plugging away at it and see where we can get to.”

Alex Fores (#90) said:
“I’m really excited to get going this weekend, and to push on after a strong start to my MSV F3 Cup title bid at Snetterton last time out.

“It’s also great to get extra seat time as I’ll be making my British F3 debut with CDR back at Donington Park the following weekend, so it’s perfect in a few senses.

“It’s got to be my favourite circuit we visit; each corner flows into the next and it’s so high-speed in these F3 Cup cars.

“A big thanks as always to my sponsors, especially Bromfield Precision Engineering, and I’ll be aiming to go out and bring back even more results for us all to be proud of.

“It’s been a two-month break since we were last out competitively in the car, and that can’t come to an end soon enough for me!

“The team will give me a great car to work with, as always, and we’ve shown we’re up there on pace, now we just need to put the two together again.”
