Chris Dittmann Racing is pleased to confirm Alex Fores as its second driver for the 2020 MSVR F3 Cup campaign.
The Marlow-based driver joins the team off the back of a successful season in Monoposto F3, finishing as vice-champion with five victories, twelve podiums and ten fastest laps, including a hat-trick of new lap records.
Prior to that, Fores’ CV also includes stints in Historic and Class Formula Ford, including the prestigious Walter Hayes Trophy, along with the Junior Saloon Car Championship and an extensive record in karting.
He will pilot an ex-Valtteri Bottas Dallara Mercedes F3 in the seven-event calendar with the support of main sponsors Bromfield Precision Engineering, including trips to some of the UK’s most-challenging circuits such as Brands Hatch, Oulton Park and Snetterton.
His first confirmed team mate is former GT racer Dominic Paul, with other drivers set to be confirmed in due course.
The opening round at Donington Park on 4th-5th April has been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, so at present the next scheduled round is on 30th-31st May at Brands Hatch.
“I’m delighted to be joining Chris Dittmann Racing for the 2020 MSVR F3 Cup season,” said Fores.
“CDR are a top team, and this partnership gives me the best chance of competing right at the front this year. I’m looking forward to continuing to learn and develop myself as a driver under their guidance.
“We’re already laid down a good foundation following some really positive winter tests, and I can’t wait to keep progressing through March before the first race weekend at Donington.”
Team Principal Chris Dittmann welcomed Fores to his Tewkesbury-based team and is looking ahead with optimism to the new season.
“Everybody at CDR is pleased to welcome Alex to our MSVR F3 Cup team for 2020,” said Dittmann.
“He’s got a very strong track record in these cars already, and I’m confident that the partnership between us will lead to plenty more success in the year ahead.
“Testing has been positive and the whole team is looking forward with optimism to the season opener at Donington Park next month.”
