Omar Ismail will be reunited with Chris Dittmann Racing at the final rounds of the BRDC Formula 3 season at Donington Park on September 10-11. The Solihull teenager replaces American Quinlan Lall, who is unable to contest the finale due to external factors. Ismail has previous experience of the F3 car having raced in the opening weekend for HHC Motorsport, claiming 12th and 16th either side of a non-finish. Chris Dittmann Racing returned to the F3 Cup podium at Brands Hatch but it was a case of what might have been. Stuart Wiltshire began the weekend with a strong drive to second place in the first of the weekend’s two races to get his title bid back on track. Team-mate Tony Bishop, who qualified on the front row for both races, slipped to fifth on the opening lap before claiming fourth position two laps from the end. F3 Cup returns to action at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit this weekend (August 27-28) with Stuart Wiltshire and Tony Bishop looking to return to form. Bishop impressed around the shorter layout, the Indy, earlier in the season when two potential race wins were instead non-finishes. In difficult conditions last time out at Oulton Park, Bishop again showed front-running pace but fortune failed to go his way. Chris Dittmann Racing displayed impressive pace during last weekend’s BRDC British Formula 3 Championship event at Snetterton (6-7 August), the second to last event of the 2016 season. The team was quick from the off at the Norfolk circuit, with American Quinlan Lall lapping the challenging 300 circuit very quickly during Friday morning practice. The 16-year-old was only edged out by championship leader Ricky Collard during the session, to kick the weekend off impressive style. The second half of the 2016 F3 Cup championship began with a tricky weekend at Oulton Park in Cheshire. Early morning rain meant Stuart Wiltshire, Tony Bishop and Malcolm Scott opted to head into qualifying with wet tyres on the slowly drying circuit. Despite further rain during the session all three improved late on in the session, with Wiltshire vaulting into the top six. That gain demoted team-mate Bishop to seventh and Scott to 10th. Chris Dittmann Racing is expecting to carry its race-winning form on to Oulton Park as F3 Cup reaches its midway point with a pair of races on July 16. Stuart Wiltshire, championship runner-up in 2015, claimed his first win at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, last time out to move into title contention. The Essex racer has been on the podium twice more in this season, and claimed third at Oulton Park last year. Chris Dittmann Racing (CDR) claimed a solid points haul as the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship visited the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium last weekend (Friday 8 – Saturday 9 July). This was a first competitive visit to the famous Belgian Grand Prix venue for all three of CDR’s drivers, but Indian Krishnaraaj Mahadik put his car 16th on the grid for the first of the weekend’s three races ahead of American team-mate Quinan Lall in 17th and Kenyan Jeremy Wahome in 18th.
