Chris Dittmann Racing claimed a hat-trick of top ten finishes in the GB3 Championship at the weekend (June 25/26) as McKenzy Cresswell and Branden Oxley battled a close and competitive field at Snetterton. After a promising test at Silverstone before the race weekend, where the team confirmed that the cars have good pace, things continued in pre-event testing at the Norfolk venue, especially on older tyre runs. Sadly, come qualifying on Saturday morning, with the field so closely matched, despite both drivers being within 0.8s of pole, they would line up 12th and 14th. It was McKenzy, in 14th, who[…..]
Coming from the high of two top ten finishes last time out, Chris Dittmann Racing headed to Oulton Park for rounds 10, 11, and 12 of the F4 British Championship, where ultimately, it was disappointment for Joel Pearson and the team as bad luck ensured they left empty handed. Grid position on the narrow 2.2-mile circuit would set the tone for the weekend and as such, qualifying would prove crucial for the young drivers. Mechanical issues in the first half of qualifying meant Joel was unable to get the car up to speed before contact between two drivers brought out[…..]
Chris Dittmann Racing claimed a first podium finish of the season in the GB3 Championship on a weekend (May 28/29) which proved taxing for both team and drivers, as the series travelled to Donington Park. It was tough from the get-go for the team, as both drivers surprisingly struggled for the ultimate pace across two days of testing held before the event, which unfortunately continued into the weekend itself, McKenzy qualifying 12th for race one and Branden 19th. Both drivers fared well in the opening contest, avoiding opening lap dramas to make up a number of places, McKenzy up five[…..]
Having enjoyed a weekend off, Chris Dittmann Racing returned to action feeling refreshed and ready to take on the next rounds of both the F4 British Championship at Thruxton and the GB3 Championship at Donington Park in a double team effort. Hot from his best British F4 result yet, last time out at Brands Hatch, teenager Joel Pearson headed to the Hampshire venue with hopes of continuing the positive momentum. After a tricky day on Saturday, the team left with two top ten finishes and a solid haul of points. With an extremely limited run of testing in F4 machinery[…..]
Chris Dittmann Racing enjoyed its best result in the F4 British Championship after an excellent drive by Joel Pearson on just his and the team’s second weekend in the closely fought single seater series. Coming straight from a busy GB3 weekend at Silverstone, the team travelled to Brands Hatch to continue its dual campaign. Jumping back behind the wheel, youngster Joel was keen to apply everything he had learned last time out and continue his rapid progress. The 20-minute qualifying session was once again fiercely contested, but there was a bit of bad luck for the 16-year-old. As he went[…..]
Chris Dittmann Racing continued its positive start to the GB3 Championship season with further point scoring finishes at the weekend (May 7/8), as the series had three races on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit. Qualifying was competitive, with the top ten drivers finishing within one second of each other, and after an unlucky session for both drivers, the races would be an upward battle for the team. A technical issue for Branden Oxley resulted in decreased run time for the Thai/British racer, though he refused to give in and pushed to record the 12th quickest time, while McKenzy Cresswell struggled[…..]
Chris Dittmann Racing officially made its debut in the F4 British Championship at the weekend (April 23/24), heading to Donington Park in Leicestershire with youngster Joel Pearson behind the wheel. Joel, new to both the team and the series, had a fight on his hands after a hanful of test days and minimal time in the new Tatuus T-421 car introduced for this season, but coped well and brought home a top ten finish and his first points. In a championship in which the single qualifying session sets the grid for all three races – with the fastest times counting[…..]
Chris Dittmann Racing began the 2022 GB3 Championship season with a strong weekend at Oulton Park, recording five top-ten finishes – with two top-five results – giving both drivers and the team a good boost for the rest of the year. At a venue which is both spectacular but also tricky on which to cleanly overtake, qualifying was going to be extremely important. With the top 15 cars finishing the session within one and a half seconds of each other, small gains would pay dividends. There was drama for Branden Oxley at the start of the 20-minute qualifying session as[…..]
After an extensive pre-season testing programme, Chris Dittmann Racing is excited to begin competition in both the GB3 Championship and, for the first time, in the F4 British Championship over the next couple of weekends. A regular entrant in what is now known as the GB3 Championship since 2013, the team has claimed 15 race wins in that time, with Ayrton Simmons finishing third in the standings in 2019 and following up with the runner up spot last year. This year the series has introduced the brand-new Tatuus MSV-022 car, which produces around 25% more downforce while adding safety features[…..]
Leading single seater outfit Chris Dittmann Racing is set to make its debut in the F4 British Championship with the news that talented young racer Joel Pearson will be joining the team in the series. Teenager Joel is a podium finisher in the Ginetta Junior Championship and was set to make his F4 debut in 2021 before tests revealed he has Pelvic Osteoblastic Osteosarcoma, a rare form of cancer, bringing a halt to his plans while he received chemotherapy. Climbing back behind the wheel of a previous-generation Mygale F4 car earlier this year, Joel felt fit and ready to return[…..]
