Chris Dittmann Racing expands to two-car F4 British Championship line up

Chris Dittmann Racing is delighted to announce that it will add Jack Sherwood to its roster in the F4 British Championship at Snetterton this weekend (August 12-14), bolstering its effort in the series to a two-car line up.

16-year-old Jack, son of racer Justin, is currently competing in the GB4 Championship, where he has claimed three podium finishes and scored two fastest laps. Prior to that he featured in the Ginetta Junior Championship and Winter Series, being named the winner of the Hard Charger Award for gaining the most positions from his grid positions.

In the GB4 Championship, Jack is familiar with the previous generation Tatuus F4-T014 machinery, which was utilised in the Italian, ADAC and Spanish F4 series. This weekend he will step up a level with the latest Tatuus T-421 car, with Abarth power and control Pirelli tyres.

Chris Dittmann Racing has built a reputation of helping to develop young drivers from all over the world, utilising the knowledge and experience of former racer and mechanical engineer Chris Dittmann, the team’s state-of-the-art simulator, and experienced engineers and mechanics.

Jack will join fellow series debutant Divy Nandan at the team this weekend, with two free practice sessions on Friday helping both apply what they’ve learned on the simulator to the physical track itself. Qualifying takes place at 10:30 on Saturday morning, with the first two 20-minute races set to get underway at 14:05 and 17:50 that afternoon. The final contest will begin at 15:05 on Sunday, with live coverage on ITV4.

Jack Sherwood

“I’m happy to be joining the team for Snetterton. I’m looking forward to getting to work with everyone as they’ve been great, and I’ve been following them in the championship so far. They seem to make really good progress so I’m looking forward to seeing what I can do, gaining experience, and trying to do the best we can. I think the team is capable of fighting for podiums, so we’ll see how Snetterton goes, but I’m looking forward to the challenge.

“The opportunity arose to do this round and it’s mainly just to gain experience, so there was no harm in doing it. Options are still open for next year and the more you drive, the more you learn, so it’s a great chance to drive the new generation F4 car. CDR have a great simulator, so I have spent a bit a bit of time on it which has been really helpful. I don’t think the car is too dissimilar to what I’ve been driving before, but there’s still going to be that learning process. It’s going to be tricky, going straight into a new championship, but with help from the team, we should be okay.”
