Jack Sherwood returns to Chris Dittmann Racing for full F4 British Championship campaign

Chris Dittmann racing is excited to announce that up-and-coming talent Jack Sherwood will return to the team to undertake a full F4 British championship campaign assault in 2023.

The 16-year-old contested four rounds of the series with the team last season, with an impressive highest finish of eighth at Silverstone, amongst a host of top ten results.

Alongside Jack’s efforts in F4, he competed in a full GB4 Championship campaign where he was firmly in the title fight, scoring two wins, seven further podium appearances, four fastest laps and one pole position, eventually finishing in the top five overall.

Already having built a strong working relationship with the team, Jack will be looking to expand on his previous experience in the Tatuus-T421 in his first full championship campaign. With access to Chris Dittmann Racing’s world class simulator and driver development program, the teenager is optimistic about the season ahead.

Pre-season preparations are well underway before the opening round at Donington Park on the weekend of April 22nd.

Jack Sherwood

“After completing four rounds of the F4 British Championship with Chris Dittmann Racing last season, and experiencing first hand the work they do to help develop drivers, I knew I wanted to come back and do a full season with the team. We did a couple of test days at the end of the season and the pace was promising, by the end we were really fast.

“It always helps when you get on with the team you’re working with, and I’ve built a really great relationship with everyone. Chris, Josh the driver coach and all the mechanics are all fun to be around on a weekend, and I really enjoy the atmosphere, so that makes it easier.

I feel at home in the F4 car, so it will be a case of fine tuning in the pre-season and making sure we’re ready to hit the ground running when the season starts in April at Donington Park. I think my previous bit of experience in the car is going to be an advantage for us as there’s not too many second year drivers on the grid so far, but it will still be super competitive.

It’s always difficult to enter a season with a fixed goal as it changes throughout the year, but obviously it would be amazing to win the championship. My main goal though, is to pick up a few podiums and as many points as I can and just see where that leaves us at the end of the season.”

Chris Dittmann, Team Owner

“We’re really pleased to welcome Jack back to the team after he showed such great potential in the closing rounds of the F4 British championship last season.

“Jack fits in really well with everyone in the team and is a joy to work with, and with his previous experience in the F4 car and raw racing talent, we’re optimistic about what we can achieve together.”
