Daniel Guinchard joins Chris Dittmann Racing for 2023 F4 British Championship

Chris Dittmann Racing is pleased to announce that F4 British Championship race winner Daniel Guinchard will join the team for the 2023 season.

The Northamptonshire-based teenager began his karting career in 2015, showing his mettle by taking the championship win in the ADAC Kartmasters OK Junior category in 2020, and becoming Rotax World Champion on the international stage later that year. In 2021, Daniel became the first junior driver in history to win two British titles in a single season, dominating both the Junior Rotax and Junior X30 classes, before making the jump into single seaters.

Having completed a full season of the F4 British Championship in 2022, claiming one win and recording five further podium appearances, the 16-year-old has a wealth of experience in the Tatuus-T41 car under his belt. That, coupled with Chris Dittmann Racing’s state-of-the-art simulator and driver development programme, puts the youngster in a great position for the season ahead, as he hopes to add to his race win tally.

With the first official test day at Silverstone this week (Tuesday March 7th), Daniel will head out on track alongside teammate Jack Sherwood for more essential practice laps ahead of the season opener at Donington Park on the weekend of April 22nd.

Daniel Guinchard

“My first season in the F4 British Championship was a bit underwhelming for a lot of different reasons. Last season there was a driver who moved from another team to Chris Dittmann Racing in GB3 and did well, so that gave us an idea of where we wanted to be. We saw the atmosphere in the team was really happy and upbeat and I feel at home already.

“I think my previous experience in the F4 car will be an advantage to an extent, but then you’ll also have the new drivers that will come into the championship all guns blazing. We have to watch out for them, but my time in the car last year will certainly help us. We definitely have a good shot of winning this year, but we’re focusing on having a good start to the season and we’ll go from there.”

Chris Dittmann, Team Owner

“We’re really happy to welcome Daniel to the team for his second year in the championship. Last year he put in some impressive performances, and we want to give him the right environment to be able to unlock his full potential this season. We’re optimistic about what we can achieve together and are working hard to hit the ground running at Donington Park next month.”
