Nico Varrone confirmed in CDR’s British F3 line up

Chris Dittmann Racing are pleased to confirm Nicolás Varrone will contest the 2020 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship with the team.

The Argentine rising star is already a proven race-winner in the UK’s premier motorsport series, taking a sublime victory at Spa-Francorchamps last season, as well as additional podium at Silverstone.

Prior to that, the 19-year old claimed the 2018 VdeV Challenge Monoplace title with six wins, eleven podiums and thirteen pole positions, and was an experienced competitor in Formula Renault 2.0 back in Argentina between 2016-18.

He will join British Formula 4 graduate Josh Skelton at the Tewkesbury-based team for 2020, with the team also in talks with other potential drivers to fill the third seat.

“I’m really happy to be joining a team as strong as Chris Dittmann Racing for the 2020 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship – it’s an opportunity every driver wants,” commented Varrone.

“I’m really grateful to all the people who have come together to make this happen; my sponsors +VIDA, my family, my manage José Manuel Balbiani and, of course, to Chris Dittmann.

“It’s been a long winter, so I can’t wait to get the new season started at Oulton Park!”

Team Principal Chris Dittmann underlined his confidence in Varrone and believes the partnership will pay dividends throughout the 2020 campaign.

“Everybody at CDR is delighted to welcome Nico to our 2020 BRDC British Formula 3 team,” said Dittmann.

“He proved last year that he has the ability to fight for race victories and podiums consistently at this level, and we’re confident that, alongside Josh [Skelton], we’ve got a very strong line-up heading into the new season.”

Oulton Park, Cheshire, hosts the 2020 season opener on 11 & 13 April.
