Chris Dittmann Racing are aiming to bounce back with a solid points haul in the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship at Snetterton, Norfolk, this weekend [03-04 October].
The Tewkesbury-based team endured a challenging weekend at Donington Park last time out; rookie sensation Josh Skelton lost ground at the top of the standings despite extending his perfect points-scoring record.
Meanwhile, debutante Alex Fores was the victim of contact whilst on course for a strong reverse-grid result, but overall adjusted well to life in the UK’s premier motorsport category, scoring his maiden points in the opening race.
The aim heading to the tight, twisty 2.99-mile Snetterton 300 circuit this weekend, therefore, is to bounce back with a solid points haul to return the team to the front of the field.
Both drivers have previous success in Norfolk; Fores took another victory to boost his title-contending MSV F3 Cup campaign there just last weekend, with Skelton twice a podium finisher at Snetterton last year in British Formula 4.
Following two days of testing, their first competitive action is qualifying at 10:45 on Saturday, with races to follow at 13:10 and 17:05.
Another brace of action-packed contests on Sunday completes the weekend, with lights out scheduled for 09:30 and 13:20.
As usual, both Sunday races will be available to view live and free-to-air on British F3’s YouTube channel and social media platforms.
Chris Dittmann, Team Principal:
“Our results last time out in the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship certainly didn’t reflect the team’s performance, so we’re all fired up to bounce back in style this weekend at Snetterton.
“A good weekend for Josh could yet put him back into title contention, but regardless, it’s been a stunning rookie season, and we’re very proud of his points-scoring record – that’s fourteen races and counting!
“Alex adjusted very well to life in the UK’s premier motorsport series at Donington Park, and brought home another victory in MSV F3 Cup at Snetterton last weekend, so the building blocks are there for him to have another good weekend and build on what he’s learned.
“A big thanks to the whole team for their hard work in getting everything prepared for the weekend – hopefully we can bring some strong results back to Tewkesbury to reward them!”
Josh Skelton (#43):
“I’m looking forward to the weekend ahead at Snetterton. I haven’t been there since the start of the year, so I can’t wait to get back out on the track.
“I’ll be aiming to bounce back strong after the disappointment at Donington Park and pick up a solid points haul to boost us back up the standings.”
Alex Fores (#90):
“It’s great to be back out with the BRDC British F3 Championship again, after a first weekend we were all happy with after limited testing.
“For me, it’s straight back to Snetterton after F3 Cup there last weekend, and I’ll be going into testing looking to build on what I’ve learnt in all the Bromfield Precision Engineering-backed cars I’ve been out in so far!” |
