Alex Fores to make British F3 debut with CDR at Donington Park

  • MSV F3 Cup points leader steps up to UK’s premier single-seater series with CDR.
  • Fores to partner regular driver Josh Skelton at Tewkesbury-based team.
  • Donington Park hosts the next event, on 19-20 September.
Chris Dittmann Racing are pleased to announce Alex Fores will make his debut in the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship at the next round at Donington Park [19-20 September].

Fores currently has a full-season MSV F3 Cup programme with the Tewkesbury-based team, piloting an ex-Valtteri Bottas Dallara Mercedes F3 with the support of Bromfield Precision Engineering.

He leads the standings after the season opener at Snetterton in July, bagging pole position, a race victory and a further podium finish on an impressive debut weekend.

Now he will make the step up into the UK’s premier single seater series alongside regular driver Josh Skelton for the next event in Leicestershire.

CDR head back to the 2.4-mile GP circuit for the second time this campaign in good spirits, having banked two race victories in the hands of Ayrton Simmons and a career-best finish of second for Skelton at Brands Hatch last time out.

Coincidentally, Donington Park also sets the scene for the next chapter in Fores’ F3 Cup title bid this weekend [12-13 September].

Chris Dittmann, Team Principal:
“I’m pleased to announce Alex will join our BRDC British Formula 3 team for the next event at Donington Park.

“He’s impressed everybody in his debut season in the MSV F3 Cup so far, and is already looking every bit a title contender after only two races.

“I’m confident he’ll adapt quickly to the British F3 car, and between him and Josh, we’ll be looking to carry on our recent momentum when we get to Donington Park next week.”

Alex Fores:
“This opportunity I’ve got to race in British F3 with CDR is amazing, I can’t quite believe we’re even here talking about it! Bromfield Precision Engineering have supported me all the way here which I am so grateful for.

“I can’t wait to get a taste of the new car when we roll it out for the first test session, seeing how it compares to the Dallara I’ve been racing so far this year.

“I’m sure there will be a buzz around the CDR garage after all the success at Brands Hatch last time out, so I’m excited to join in!”
