Chris Dittmann Racing showed promising pace last weekend as the Wera Tools British F4 Championship visited Silverstone, with all four drivers demonstrating glimpses of their potential during an incident-filled weekend.
Coming straight after a blisteringly hot Snetterton, the team decamped to Silverstone for the first of two stand-alone events. Intended to give drivers the chance to gain experience at a full Grand Prix venue and aid their single-seater career progression, the 32-car field took on the 18-turn, 3.660-mile circuit with gusto.
It was for exactly those reasons that the team welcomed Alba Larsen back to the fold. Having raced for Chris Dittmann Racing in 2025, Alba is now a championship front-runner in F1 Academy, arriving from Canada after enjoying three strong performances at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve the previous weekend.
Qualifying proved to be a tricky affair, with all four drivers unable to maximise the package underneath them and show the pace they were capable of. With an uphill battle ahead, there was no choice but to focus on improving the cars for the three races to come.
The pole-sitter stalled at the start of race one, causing confusion as the field got underway, but Tommy and Alba took full advantage to make good progress through the pack and join the battle for 15th place. A Safety Car period with six minutes remaining set up a late dash to the flag, allowing Tommy to finish 13th, with Alba not far behind. Both drivers gained seven positions over the course of the race.
Race two was a much more chaotic affair, with the red flag being shown at the end of the opening lap after a number of cars went off at Club Corner. Separate incidents left cars stranded on track, resulting in the grid being reformed and the race restarted. Unfortunately, Tommy became a victim on the second attempt, taking contact at Club and being forced to retire on the spot. Daniella was also in the wars and was forced to retire in the pits with damage.
In a near mirror of race two, the third contest lasted just one lap before the red flag was shown after contact at Club sent cars wide and bodywork flying. The second start was much cleaner, allowing all four drivers to focus on making progress. Tommy wasted no time in moving forward, gaining six places in the opening laps, while Henry and Daniella also made up ground. Alba continued her charge until contact damaged her front wing and dropped her back down the order, but all four drivers showed the speed was there, even if the results did not fully reflect the hard work put in throughout the weekend.
After a fraught start to the 2026 Wera Tools British F4 Championship season, with 12 races in six weeks including back-to-back race weekends, Chris Dittmann Racing now has a six-week break before the series resumes at Zandvoort for rounds 13, 14 and 15.
The Gloucester-based team will use that time to refocus and ensure they hit the ground running for the second half of the season. Sophomore driver Tommy is already a race winner and will be looking to rediscover the form that made him a prolific points scorer with the team last season. The championship resumes at the Dutch Grand Prix venue on 11–12 July, where the team will be aiming to turn encouraging pace into strong results.

“It’s been a very mixed weekend. We had good pace at the beginning in the Free Practice sessions, but we didn’t quite bring it all together in qualifying. As a team, we’ve worked really hard throughout the weekend to get the drivers back up to speed. We’ve had to work on the cars quite a bit, as there seemed to be a lot of incidents during the races, but by the end of the weekend things were looking really encouraging.
“All four drivers were a bit unfortunate in the races, but Henry and Alba showed some great pace in the two races on Sunday. Alba even set the fastest middle sector on the final lap of the last race. So, there are plenty of positives to take away from the end of the weekend. We’ll make the most of the gap before the next round, regroup as a team, and come back strong at Zandvoort.”
