Silverstone British F3 Preview

The home of the British Grand Prix awaits for the Chris Dittmann Racing and rounds 13, 14 and 15 of the 2016 BRDC British F3 season on June 11-12.

International trio Quinlan Lall, Krishnaraaj Mahadik and Jeremy Wahome head to Northamptonshire on the back of a promising weekend at Oulton Park on the May bank holiday, when all three enjoyed consistent running.

Traffic in qualifying denied Lall and Mahadik what could have top six starting slots, but both came through to battle in and around the top 10. The wide and expansive Grand Prix circuit at Silverstone should offer good chances for more progress towards the head of the field.

Lall – who lies joint-12th in the championship standings – has won the Sunoco Driver of the Weekend Award twice this year for gaining the most places during an event. His best-placed finish of the year so far is eighth, and he left Oulton Park with two ninths and a tenth.

Mahadik has a sixth place to his name, which he scored in his debut weekend at the tough Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit. That was also the scene of the ever-improving Wahome’s best, 16th.

As with every round of this year’s BRDC F3 season, it will be the drivers’ first competitive visit to the circuit.

Team principal, Chris Dittmann, said: “I’m expecting a good weekend at Silverstone for Quinlan, Krish and Jeremy. We haven’t had the best of luck lately and that’s hidden the guys’ pace a bit, but hopefully we can have a smooth testing and qualifying to give themselves the best possible chances on race day.

“There’s a lot of run-off so it’s a place that lends itself to learning the track quickly. I have full confidence in them to with our help and they should be pushing up towards the front.”

Chris Dittmann Racing races three times in BRDC F3. Qualifying for the opener begins at 10:40, with race one starting at 14:40 on Saturday June 11. Race two takes place at 10:00 on Sunday June 12 before race three at 16:30.
