Following another improved outing in BRDC British F3 at Brands Hatch a fortnight ago, Chris Dittmann Racing is looking to continue its momentum when the championship resumes at Rockingham Motor Speedway on April 30-May 1.
Indian racer Krishnaraaj Mahadik made his championship debut at Brands Hatch in rounds four, five and six and instantly impressed, claiming a brilliant top-six finish in the third and final race of the weekend from 15th on the grid. Despite having never been to the Kent circuit before, the 19-year-old qualified just outside the top 10 for the opener, eventually taking 14th before a 12th-place finish in race two.
American team-mate Quinlan Lall spent much of the weekend battling inside the top 10, taking home a 10th and an eighth, as well as the Sunoco Driver of the Weekend Award. The results followed a non-finish in race one, and leaves him 17th in the championship standings.
Jeremy Wahome, from Kenya, endured a tough weekend at Brands Hatch. He was excluded from the opener and spun out of race two, before securing 16th in race three.
Chris Dittmann, team principal, said: Brands Hatch was good confidence boost for the guys, especially Quinlan and Krishnaraaj. They both impressed and caught the eye of a lot of people. It was a good learning experience for Jeremy to take into Rockingham too.
It’s a tricky and unique circuit, and it’s hard work on the drivers. There’s not much time to have a breather. That should make for some good racing and hopefully opportunities for Quinlan, Krish and Jeremy to pick up some places and good results.
We’ve tested at the circuit recently so it should be fresh in their minds, and should mean we can expect some strong points.
BRDC British F3 races three times at Rockingham Motor Speedway on April 30-May 1. Qualifying begins at 10:55 on Saturday with the 15-lap race one starting at 15:05. Race two takes place at 09:50 on Sunday with race three at 15:45.
